About Us
Sommer Hof Farms Homemade Food is a very small company dedicated to producing and marketing high-quality gourmet food products. This business grew in response to Dorcas Sommerehoff's catering customers who urged her to market her delicious and very popular cheddar cheese crisps.
In the beginning Dorcas Sommerhoff's young catering company was still run out of her home and Dorcas and her helpers would work around the kitchen table forming and baking the biscuits and tinning them up for sale at food shows and to catering customers who became biscuit addicts. The catering company grew great guns and moved into an 1800's general store in Ancramdale, New York which was aptly named The Farmer's Wife! Dorcas has retired from catering to manage the growing biscuit business. The Farmer's wife is now in the capable hands of Emilie Sommerhoff and Job Yacubian, Dorcas's stepdaughter and son-in-law.
